We accept valid referrals from your General Practitioner (GP), Psychiatrist, or Paediatrician which allows you to receive a rebate. Each calendar year, up to 10 sessions are eligible for rebates, with up to an additional 10 sessions available under a GP Condition Management Plan (GPCCMP).
EMPOWR can process Medicare rebates on-site at the time of payment. In special cases, Medicare rebates may also apply to assessment sessions if a Paediatrician or Psychiatrist provides a valid referral for complex neurodevelopmental assessments.
Whilst our admin team are here to assist you, Clients are responsible for ensuring their Medicare rebate eligibility and tracking the number of rebates they have available.
We accept Self-Managed and Plan-Managed NDIS referrals - offering a coordinated, multidisciplinary approach for NDIS participants. We do not provide psychology services in isolation under the NDIS, instead prioritising holistic care. This includes collaboration with other professionals, such as Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Support Workers, Teachers, Paediatricians, Psychiatrists, and Support Coordinators, to ensure comprehensive support tailored to each client.
Several of our psychologists are SIRA-registered providers, offering specialised expertise to assess a worker’s capacity, identify barriers to recovery, and deliver evidence-based treatment focused on return-to-work outcomes.
You will need a GP referral, to access up to 8 sessions of allied health treatment without prior insurer approval.
We accept referrals for individuals funded through third-party agencies, such as DCJ, OOHC, or employer-funded programs. Referral and funding information must be provided before the first appointment to allow time for approval. Please email referral and quote requests to our EMPOWR team.
Veterans can be referred to allied health practitioners through a DVA-specific process. This requires a D904 referral arranged by your GP, detailing the treatment under the DVA allied health treatment cycle. Referrals are available for White and Gold Card holders, and all services are bulk billed with no gap fees.
We accept a limited number of Victims Services (VS) referrals at a time. Please check the Victims Services website for our current availability or contact EMPOWR by email or phone to confirm.
Empowr Health Collective recognises that some clients may be eligible for government-funded aged care supports through My Aged Care, the national gateway for accessing aged care services in Australia. My Aged Care assists older Australians to understand, assess and plan for the services and funding available to help them live safely and comfortably at home or in care.
This includes arranging an assessment and developing a support plan that may include funding for approved services under the Support at Home program or other aged care funding pathways.
If you think you may be eligible for My Aged Care support, we recommend contacting My Aged Care directly or speaking with your GP or Aged Care Specialist Officer to explore options and next steps. Any funding entitlements are determined by My Aged Care assessments and care plans, and are not automatically applied
Empowr Health Collective participates in referral pathways coordinated by Hunter Primary Care / Hunter New England Primary Health Network (HNEPHN) and associated local referral systems. These pathways help clinicians and health professionals connect clients with appropriate services in the region, but they do not provide direct funding for free services.
The HNE referral pathways can support access to a range of health programs and services — for example, coordinated care or psychosocial support — by helping to link clients with providers who deliver those services. However, eligibility, availability and any funding requirements are determined by the specific service or program, and referral pathway support does not guarantee subsidised or no-cost services.
If you are considering referral via Hunter Primary Care or your GP, our team can assist with information about how these pathways may apply to your circumstances.
